Campbell McKenzie was brought up in Grimshader on the Isle of Lewis where part of his family have been based since 1610. He is an architect based in Edinburgh and Stornoway with an active interest in contemporary design and also a specialist knowledge of historic building conservation. In addition he is an illustrator and producer of 'paper architecture' as an end in itself

B Arch (Hons) Dip ( MacKintosh) RIBA. ARIAS, Member of RIBA and an associate of the RIAS . He is current secretary of the Western Isles Architect's Group. Between 2005 -2010, Campbell was a member of Church of Scotland Committee for Church Art and Architecture (CARTA). He was formerly secretary of Western Isles Architecture Group and has served as secretary for both Urras Eaglais na H-Aoidhe (UI Church Trust) and The Lewis and Harris Buildings Preservation Trust. In 1991 he was a founder member with Dr Gavin Stamp of the Alexander 'Greek' Thomson Society. He is presently the only architect in the Western Isles accredited in historic building conservation.
